Angeline’s Story

Our business is Indulge Beauty Therapy and we’re located on the first floor of Kirkcaldie and Stains in central Wellington. We provide a large range of beauty therapy treatments.

Our average client is 40 years old and over. Many of them are businesswomen while others don’t work. They’re mainly Kirkcaldie and Stains customers.

Since working with ActionCOACH, we’re looking at slightly different customers now, and we don’t target just anybody – we’re being a bit more selective about who it is that we’re after.

We’ve been in business for 4 years – we just celebrated our fourth birthday, in fact. There are two of us at the moment, both full-time, but I am looking for a third.

Our profile is growing.

For quite a time we were situated behind a hair salon and only had one room, so we were very busy and couldn’t really get any busier. So, I think people are a little bit more aware of us now because the hair salon’s gone and we’re a bit more visual, though not hugely so, and I think that word of mouth is definitely increasing.

We’ve put in another treatment room as well as a manicure room. We stock the “Jessica” range of hand and feet products and are the only stockists in Wellington -it’s from the United States and it’s pretty well-known by anyone that’s been to the UK, as well as being pretty big over in the United States.

We’ve even had write-ups in the paper.

Anyway, I was working a lot and getting nowhere really. I had previously met another ActionCOACH business coach when I first started out in business, so I was aware of what ActionCOACH did and what we could achieve through working with them.

When I first started in business I was working 7 days a week, so that pretty much eliminated any time I had for myself.

I did that for about 12 months.

Financially, it was a bit of a struggle…
